Take-home teeth whitening is a professional dental-grade whitening treatment that you can complete from the comfort of your own home. We’ll create custom whitening trays that fit perfectly over your teeth and gums from impressions that we take of your mouth.
By wearing your trays each day for 2 weeks, the peroxide will gradually whiten your teeth. Many patients prefer take-home whitening treatments over in-office whitening because it is more convenient, doesn’t require lasers, and utilizes a lower concentration of peroxide, minimizing teeth sensitivity.
Do you want whiter, brighter teeth? Don’t have time to sit in a dental office for hours or aren’t interested in lasers? Try take-home teeth whitening at North Park Dental today! Contact us at (956) 997-4044 or book online to schedule a consultation with Dr. Ricardo Munoz.
The process begins with a consultation so that Dr. Munoz can assess your oral health and degree of discoloration before determining if you’re a good candidate for take-home whitening.
We will then take impressions of your mouth and send them to a dental lab to create your customized whitening trays. The impressions will show the lab tech how your bite fits together and the exact way your teeth are shaped so your trays will conform to the same shape for a snug fit that is comfortable and effective.
Once the trays have been fabricated, they’ll arrive at our dental office and you can pick them up to begin your treatment. You’ll also receive a whitening gel containing peroxide that you will apply to your trays and place over your teeth.
We will give you instructions to follow about how much peroxide to apply and how long you should wear the trays. Treatment will take compliance with wearing the trays each day for a specific duration of time over the course of 2 weeks.
Investing in whiter teeth can do wonders for your self-esteem, smile, and opportunities. Many patients report feeling that they can be more social and confident when they don’t have to worry about insecurities with their teeth.
Studies have even shown that candidates with whiter teeth have more job opportunities, including better chances of being selected for an interview and being more likely to receive a raise. By choosing professional take-home whitening trays, you’re able to whiten your teeth without having to leave your house.
You can multitask while you have your trays in and be productive rather than spending time in the dentist’s chair and commuting to and from your appointment. While there are cheap over-the-counter whitening trays on the market, many of them are not ADA-approved, contain harmful amounts of peroxide, and are not custom-fit to your mouth.
This increases your likelihood of experiencing extreme tooth sensitivity and irritating your gums. Because our trays are constructed based on your teeth impressions, we can avoid any whitening agent coming into contact with your gums.
Take-home whitening is less expensive than in-office whitening and causes less tooth sensitivity. Getting your teeth whitened is one of the cheapest and most effective cosmetic dental services you can get!
After your whitening treatment is complete, you will need to keep up on your oral hygiene and regular cleanings to ensure that your teeth stay white for as long as possible. The lifespan of a whitening treatment ranges from 6 months to 3 years.
The reason this estimate is so variable is because of people’s differing lifestyle habits, like their oral hygiene, diet, and frequency of dental visits. Brush your teeth with a soft-bristle brush and fluoride toothpaste for at least 2 minutes twice a day and floss once daily.
To avoid surface stains, reduce your consumption of red wine, coffee, tea, highly pigmented foods, and tobacco products. You should get a dental cleaning every 6 months to maintain your white teeth, as these cleanings remove the buildup of plaque and other surface stains.
Whitening treatments don’t last forever but are a good temporary investment in your smile and confidence. If you maintain the health of your teeth, keep them clean, and avoid staining products, you won’t need another whitening treatment for a few years.
